The Mosque's Biggest Fan

Who could it possibly be ? None other than Chelmsford’s member of Parliament, Vicky Ford.

Minister of State for Development in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) from 6 September 2022 to 25 October 2022.

A Champion Of LGBT and Women’s Rights

Here’s Vicky pledging to be an ally of the LBGTQ+ community in Feb 2023.

Vicky has consistently voted to support equal gay rights, and voted in favour of same sex marriages in the Northern Ireland in 2019. She openly condemns discrimination and human rights violations against members of the gay communities overseas. But like most politicians, ticking diversity boxes is more important than the lofty principles she claims to aspire too.

SMile For The camera Vicky !

And she looks very cosy pictured next to the Head Imam Shaykh Shams Ad Duha, infamous for his views on homosexuality and the role of women in modern society, and highlighted in the 2023 government review of the Prevent programme on extremism.

As an MP we expect Vicky to hold herself to a high moral standard, when did it become acceptable to tolerate intolerance ?

A Very Cosy relationship with the Chelmsford Muslim Society

While Vicky always claims that she has no say in planning matters, she certainly does hold sway over the local Conservative party. When it comes to the Hamptons , we have an opposition party that won’t oppose any issues linked to the venue. And it gets worse.

Yes, that is the very same Ayman Syed, the current Chair of the Chelmsford Muslim Society. And we’ve seen from documents obtained from the council, that CMS are constantly emailing Vicky Ford, “just keeping her in the loop”. And it came as no surprise when she attended the Iqra Learning Centre Summer School end of year party in 2021 at Hamptons (see below).

Her association with CMS started in 2018, not long after she was elected as an MP , when she was contacted by Mo Nawaz, the Chair of CMS, to organise a meeting to discuss how unfairly the council had treated them, in relation to a land purchase that had fallen through. Here’s the email, which was copied to Cllr Dick Madden.

Now if a local resident contacts her about an issue with the council (as many of you have), she says it’s not in her remit, and you should contact the council to complain. Guess what the response was in this case ?

Isn’t that strange ? And we feel we should also encourage you to take a look at the 2019 election results, see anyone familiar standing as a Tory candidate ?

Let’s move on a few years. Here she is in 2021, with the disgraced former Chair of Essex County Cricket and CMS member, Azeem Akthar (second left), who stepped down amid allegations of antisemitism read more here

Vicky Ford at the Hamptons Summer school event, organised by the Iqra Learning Centre and CMS.

And speaking of Essex County Cricket, they hosted a one day game between Bangladesh and Ireland in March 2023, attended by their guests, the Chelmsford Muslim Society and guess who ?

ARE VOTES more important than principles vicky ?

Should you contact Vicky about the Hamptons Islamic Centre, you’ll get a propaganda statement prepared by CMS in return, like this one we were forwarded recently:

The Chelmsford Muslim Society have written that “We remain resolute in our commitment to an inclusive environment at Hamptons. We believe in embracing diversity and providing opportunities for all communities to engage in our events and activities. Hamptons has held numerous open events for the public and private hires and continues to do so.”

Why does our MP not care about :

  • The rights of residents ?

  • The proper provision of sports and leisure facilities for the local community ?

  • Discrimination against the LBGTQ+ community, and women’s rights ?

With a General Election election pending next May, the fight for votes and ticking diversity boxes is clearly more important !

AND PRINCIPLES GO OUT THE Window !
