A Job Well Done

After a couple of recent parking related disasters at Hamptons, we were quite pessimistic about the latest large event held on the 9th October 2021.

credit where credit is due

Firstly, well done to the parking marshalls, who were out there for the whole event. Thankfully they didn’t need to sort out any major issues, with the car park never comepletely filling up.

Secondly, well done to the Indian At Heart organisation, who worked with Hamptons to reduce the capacity of the event, and issued proper travel instructions to the attendees. It’s vital to avoid the need for overspill parking, and suggesting that attendees car pool, park sensibly and use taxis was the responsible thing to do.

A Blueprint for future events

Going forward, we’re sure that residents will approve of the positive action taken by the organisers, and Hamptons.

However, “one swallow, does not a summer make”, and two major events (on consecutive weeks) in November are planned. The same conditions on capacity and expert marshalling for the whole event are vital to avoid any potential parking issues. Let’s not take a step back.

We hope Hamptons will learn from this, and apply the capacity restrictions to the whole venue, and not just large events.

Most importantly, proper travel instructions must go out all the attendees in advance, with one clear message….leave you car at home !
